Teresa Slomko Gallery

Born in NYC and the youngest of 10 from a Dominican family, Teresa has always loved the arts and has been writing poetry all her life. She has now chosen to express herself in photography. She enjoys the uncertainties of taking a picture when the moment is not staged, the abstract images are inspiring. The depth and range of colors are her focus. Black and white images take her back to a past when obstacles were few. She sees an area that is a potential photo in many angles, while still maintaining the integrity of the image, She capture it, as she define it. Although having recently taken this path, Teresa has encompassed her past into every image taken. Emotions drive her to take a particular photo. It is all intertwined. Her Family unknowingly are her inspiration every day.
The expressions received when a person sees what has been captured help add to her creativity. Negative or positive responses are absorbed and taken as ammunition for her next photo. Ultimately, enjoying what is here and what is seen will continue to fill her life and hopefully will touch yours.
